How it’s done
The area to be treated is targeted with a long-pulse laser beam that emits light absorbed by dark skin cells. The dark skin cells absorb the energy from the laser and kills the cells. The dead skin cells move to the top of your skin and flake off.
What to expect
Expect a minimal amount of discomfort during the procedure. There may be some swelling and redness in the treated area that subsides in a few hours. Initially, the area may appear brown and “speckled.” The dead skin will flake off in 1-3 weeks and you will notice significant or complete fading of the spots.
