Karen R. Herrera, MSN, RN
Owner and Nurse Injector
Karen Herrera, RN attended undergrad and graduated from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care and worked as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. She eventually found her way to the Bay Area and enrolled in a nursing program at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA, where she would receive a Master's in Nursing. She worked as an RN in an infusion clinic with a research team in treating pediatric patients with rare genetic diseases. She eventually switched to case management where she helped patients and their families navigate the complex health care system and coordinate care for before, during, and after a hospitalization. She started to missed the hands-on, face-to-face patient care aspect but wanted to pursue a path in a "happier" specialty. She enrolled in a Botox/Dermal Filler class and found that’s when she found her calling. She is now certified in administering neurotoxins and dermal fillers by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) and the American Academy of Procedural Medicine (AAOPM). She was also trained on the use of Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) by Dr. Richard Miron and Dr. Catherine Davies, world renowned researchers and educators, on the use PRF in facial esthetics.
Karen is happily married and am the proud mother of 2 teenage boys. In her free time she enjoys exercising, hiking, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.
